Really wish the demo day was at MILANG much better for families with kids, and better camping grounds with facilities, boogy is a snake infested poo hole !!

Its not like the crew just decide to go to boggy for a laugh.
There are many variables that need to be considered.

Word is the marine harbours lads have been hanging around Milang lately anyway.

It's looking like a great weekend of moderate seabreezes and fantastic weather!
With a bit of luck we'll score 15 - 25 knot seabreezes on Saturday and maybe 15 - 20knot seabreezes on Sunday!
We'll be setting up mid morning and will have all of the 2013 JP boards and 2013 Neilpryde rigs set up by lunchtime. We'll have the BBQ going and Beers on ice!

Thanks Pete and the Onboard crew - good fun yesterday testing out the gear. Hope you get some wind today. Conditions co-operated with a light breeze to start with, ending in maybe 15 knots? (my lake wind speed sense is poorly developed).

My mate Andrew came down - his last board was a Bombora South Pacific(!). Things like clamp on booms and light rigs were blowing his mind :-) Couldn't prise him off a 165 L JP Explorer. Uphaulable and stable in light winds. Later in the day I cranked it up with a 6.7 NP Fusion - it really moved and felt like a true short-board. Perfect one board solution for a guy like Andrew getting back into the sport.

I started off with 6.7 NP Fusion on a 10' 8" JP Fusion SUP. This sail is very light in the hands. This was my first go on a proper SUP (with tail rocker and no footstraps ) with a sail. I got to say is was my favourite board of the day. It's great for old school freestyle. I even pulled off a rail ride, which feels pretty strange with the extra width (and glassy rail :-) ) . Getting upwind again was fine as long as you dug in the windward rail deep. The wind picked up, and before you know it I was planing back and forth in about 15 knots of wind. The fun came in heading off the wind and taking the runs between the chop. I didn't have a GPS on, but if I didn't hit 20 knots board speed I'd be staggered. I would really like to see more dedicated SUP crew try this - it's a downwinder on steroids! Actually, I think these things a quite raceable as a fun no sheep stations class. - a triangle course maybe too much to ask but figure 8 is totally doable. It's an OK platform for teaching I think - especially for SUPers wanting to explore wind-power. Plenty stable, responsive to sail and foot steering. I wonder about the disadvantages of no centreboard, but does that mean we just have to teach digging in a rail instead?

I finished the day on a JP Freestyle Wave 101 and 5.8 NP Atlas (I think). Nice bit of kit. But I've got to say at this level its not the board, it's the rider. Josh on the same kit was doing all sorts of new school freestyle moves that I couldn't :-)

Thanks Peter and Tom for all your efforts today, was so much fun meeting the boggy crew, sailing stuff we don't normally sail, kids had a hoot, very tired on way home. Was great trying out the latest from Neil Pryde and JP, just needed to have another 5 knots and it would have been on for real!
Not sure I enjoyed the wildlife encounters
Went to the langhorne creek hotel for a steak after, was an interesting hour let me tell you!

Thanks Pete and Tom for a great day on Saturday, loved the gear and had a great sail! Thanks to Neil Pryde and JP! Didn't see any wild life, happy about that!
