Spent the last week of March at Port Mac on a dying swell. After a day of visiting a few of the local heavy reef breaks I started wondering where the beginner/intermediates surfed and luckily shortly after stumbled across Brown Bay - a nice beachbreak with potential to be very exposed if the swell turns south! Very stable weather for most of the week with light early morning offshores. Surfed a famous "secret spot" alone and wished I'd some company (or had bigger figs!) - the surfer's guide hadn't helped with a nearby break being described as "isolated and sharky" , "strong currents when bigger"! On the last day a trough/front system moved thru and we tore off to Browns hoping for some action only to find the swell had completely died! On the way back thru town saw a guy walking on Breaksea Reef - normally seething mass of white water! Luckily Pilly came to the rescue with a plan and we had a nice light wind sail. Hope you like my first video! Cheers and happy sailin'!
