Well to say the stars aligned for the weekend away in Beachport was an understatement. We got cracking weather, good swell, a predominantly NW wind pattern and 16-20 frothing sailors ready to take on what was on offer.

Friday turned on good waves and light NW winds, we only managed a few hours sailing before it was time to grab the SUPS and hit the perfect lefts and rights for a late sunset session. Saturday was the pick of the days, cranking NW down the line sailing all day. There were twisted ankles, wrenched toes, bruised cheeks and lost booms as well as the finest sand in the world penetrating every orifice (I'm still picking it out of my ears)
Sunday was a bit lighter, so time to rest the bodies and cruise around Beachport, with everyone enjoying a quiet surf, coffee at the cafes or a spot of 4WDing.
Sunday was the last day and again the wind picked up to nuclear strength. The waves weren't as good as Saturday, but still lots of fun.

All in all, personally, I would have to say that the conditions were the best I had seen at Beachport in all the years we have been heading down to the South East, cant wait for next year!

I have put a video together of the weekend, I suggest you grab a coffee / tea, a few cookies and sit back, turn the volume up, enjoy,

You are right there, everyone sailed out of their skin on Saturday! Richard Upton on the Kona collection, Kym was hitting lips, Anthea was on fire with some carving turns, Dave Alexander was sailing well too. The usual suspects Scotty, Gareth and Zubby were also firing! Someone needs to learn how to do Goiters (they cant be too hard can they?)

Happy to launch into a couple for the camera Dave. Definately won't be landing one though.

Great video Dave, and what a great weekend away in a beautiful spot. Drones! What a time to be alive. Whatever that right hander on Saturday was called, it was a cracker. I had to rediscover how important moving the backhand on the boom is in the transition from bottom turn to top turn - pretty lazy in this regard but so important. Thanks guys for the help pushing my heavy old front-wheel drive Oddy out of the sand, and for the lift home with my trailer Richard.

Thanks for the comments everyone, still buzzing from last weekend, everyone sailed so well, great conditions and great company

I must admit when we had 18 sailors on the water at one stage I was a bit surprised, especially when we thought only 8-12 would rock up and there were apparently 15 or so speed saillors out on Lake George, Well done SA!

A quick follow up to the GoPro story (long story short - Max found a gopro on the beach on Friday afternoon and we found the owner 4 hours later via facebook - it had been in the water for 10 months) there maybe a follow up story in the paper on Sunday (possible back page) and I contacted GoPro in the US and they are send me a small gift as a sign of appreciation - ah, warm fuzzies....
