i took ten days off starting from easter and got exactly zero sailing days out of it. no wind whatsoever. and that's continued all this week as well. *shakes fist angrily at huey*

but looking at the 'water and land' graph - sunday looking very likely to have some puff. hopefully the coastal forecast this afternoon backs that up.

i really need a sail.

Shane, unfortunately youve taken leave at the wrong time of year if you wanted wind. Pretty much does this every year once the seabreezes are gone. We are now into that time of year where we have to rely on fronts.

As Dave suggested, buy a SUP. Perfect weather conditions this time of year for Suping or surfing. I know i got my stoke factor filled last sunday Suping some great waves at southport and then dropping in at the Onboard/Starboard SUP Demo.

You might as well everyone else who's ever seen a gidget movie or smelt salt water seems to have one just remember the basic surf rules - don't drop in and don't be a greedy pig in the line up

One with a mast track might be handy for saturday at middleton

so I was referring to 'Water and the Land' map that you can find on the bom site (www.bom.gov.au/jsp/watl/wind/index.jsp). just knock it into SA mode, and you can see the long range forecast patterns for the state. when i originally posted, there was a nice big yellow patch just south of us pushing a sou-easter onto the land. of course the next day it had been downgraded, so now it looks unlikely.

sad fase.

and on those who recommend international travel - last trip to Turkey (Alacati) carefully scheduled to be slap-bang in the middle of their peak wind period, an unseasonal high pressure system parked overhead for two weeks that had locals stumped and me dry and fuming. i'm yet to really have a good windy holiday yet. this sport likes to mock me.

The bom is forcasting SE 15 to 25 down here for Sunday arvo, can't really see this happening as too bloody cold here now for seabreezes, have already been booked for mums day lunch and on arvo shift for work.....will be spewing if it happens.

Having recently returned from Maui (and some classic Hookipa sessions) I can say that it makes the pain of the doldrums even more intense.
