Ah, i see. Seabreeze forecast is never very accurate for SA. i never look at it. The live graphs are good though.

MetEye forecast this arvo looks really light then heading stronger northerly: not a good one... :(

MetEye predictions for Sunday arvo as at 3:15 Saturday arvo... wind up north but not much at the coast... and then it turns north until late arvo / early evening when it heads NW big time for Monday... but the forecasts have been very flakey with these recent systems.

We'll discuss a few options for this event - next weekend, seek permit extension, wait til next year, etc- TBA.

According to the September averages there were 2.5 days of suitable conditions and perhaps 1-2 other marginal days.
It must've blown strong from the NW on the night of the comp to register green from the NW (?)
Next year I reckon we must get permits for Day St and the Mid for 2 months to maximise our chances...

Yes - the next day was NW 30-45 kts on a 1-2m swell. A few of us went out once it dropped below 40kts and had a good session, and then Tuesday was a 30kts W on a big swell. So a close call... A good idea to have a longer permit period... but this year really has been one of the worst for many... This is backed up by the BoM with rainfall way below average for central SA: the same systems that bring the rain bring the strong NW-W winds at this time of year, so no rain usually means no wind.
