Hi Folks,

Can anyone remember how to wavesail, because we are running the State titles in 2012!

Holding period – Sunday 5th, 12th, 19th or 26th August 2012

Competition Run Criteria/Location
Decisions based on Buoyweather – wind and swell
www.buoyweather.com/wxnav6.jsp?program=nww3BW1&grb=nww3®ion=AS&latitude=-35.5&longitude=138.5&zone=9&units=e

Called 2 days prior – check Seabreeze SA forum
Forecast Wind >= 15 - 20 knots
Day St – NW, swell > 2' (Swellnet)
Goolwa – NW, swell < 2' (Swellnet)
U-turns – N, swell > 1.5' (Swellnet)
Kent Res – S, swell > 3' (Swellnet)

A bias for side-off or side shore conditions at the start of the holding period. If onshore conditions occur at the end of the holding period we'll still call it and have a Pozo SA style! Event will be called on the basis of the forecast, but sailed in the "nowcast". Be prepared! If there is no comp in August, the Beachport competition in October becomes the State titles by default.

Notice of event just two days out is going to make it a bit tricky for those of us who are keen to attend but currently interstate.
Will be watching the weather maps and forum closely.
Hope to see you guys there !

Press the go button for a nice 7 day computer generated weather map covering southern hemisphere.

Pity some of that serious wind doesnt track a little further north

Buoyweather is now calling WSW10-13 knots am; W9-12 pm; SSW6'@15s for Sun. (Never trust those long range forecasts!). We'll watch for developments...

The forecast is changing everytime I look at it. I reckon Sunday will be on as there is a front moving through early next week.

It would be nice to get some waves and wind on the weekend!

My 2 Cents

Weather forecast looks way too much hit and miss.
To me Sundays a maybe.
Fronts are becoming more frequent now, there will be other weekends coming.
