OES shaper Peter Ross lent me his new 112 L to try
- first thoughts- thats not a wave board its a whale, but maybe i can do a bit of float and ride
- second thoughts after sailing it- Rossy you aint gettin it back- how does a 112 go so good?
- third thoughts, doubled my sailing time, lost 5kg, found light wind= best waves
picture tells a thousand words; thanks to Dave Lane for splicing up some recent footage
- all waves i get on the blue sail (blade pro=sick) is on the OES 112 HR and first couple of my waves on red sail 112 HR also

(anyone know how to embed?? please do)
big fat board
big fat boys
big fat fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I couldnt believe a 112 could work so good on the wave- Rossy explained its basically same rails, rocker, outline as smaler OES Hot rods, just 6cm wider- so long as you keep the board on the rail the board and the wave dont know its a fatty; Rossy calls it the vespa theory.
Footage is small stuff, 112 rips on bigger days too, frothing at giving it a run on SAs west coast this summer
discaimer- yes I am 100% an oes fan- yes i have a lot of design input on my oes boards; yes Rossy knocks a few bucks of my boards, but i always buy the best boards i can, also have other brands and not into selling my soul for 5%off and calling a dog a ferrari.
Also have in past been very frustrated with production boards that look like wave boards but are IMO detuned and optimised for sailing on a lake in europe.
In Oz we are blessed to get good waves- IMO gotta get a proper wave board from our gun custom builders to really start having fun
