I had a prolimit seat harness years ago that was a simple wrap around harness. Light, no fuss and still looked new when i stopped using it after 8 years because my arse had been working out on the donuts. Loved that harness.
so i got another harness that i lost at some point.
then i bought a dakine. Thing fell apart on me and i never really liked it because it had so much material and stuff that seemed to do nothing for the function of the design and just got in the way on the water. seems prolimit followed that same path with the dakine looking harness.
so i needed a new harness because the dakine had fallen apart after "not a lot of use".
i dropped into surf fx on the goldy and stood in front of the floor to ceiling harness shrine looking dazed and confused.
they had the usual suspects, dakine, pro limit etc.
young dude came over. Told me he was a kiter but would help me. I explained my love affair with my old prolimit, how it was light and functional, had medium low hook and suited me in the surf and on flat water. I then told him I'd never buy another dakine.
he handed me an ion pace. As soon as it was in my hand i knew this was it. Meanwhile, guy no2 i spoke with on the phone the day before came over, introduced himself an shook my hand.
eventually john came over and said hello as well. That led to a conversation about windsurfers. Finbox setup and design....i love this shop.
anyways, i used the harness today and it is the best harness I've used. the guys were bang on the mark. It has the light minimalist free moving feel with a low mid hook but has these insane quick release clips on all straps that at this stage make this harness feel slick!
plus as was pointed out to me it has a flap on the back for farts. I think it will work better for sharts....
