I am considering buying a Goya carbon 60% boom ,has anyone had a good run with them so far ,or own one .
they look ok ,3,15 kg is probably heavy for a 180-230 ,but looking for strength more than anything ,I have broken
too many alloy booms to want to go back ,I'm only a free rider ,but I jump a bit and thats when I break them alloys

can't answer your question sorry... but maybe take a look at the new simmer sx8 wide booms if you are considering options? similar price range but lighter. i have been using the wave - solid, comfortable and the new bend curve is clever

I've had the 160-210cm 60% carbon boom for the last 2 years. Nice boom, stiffer than alloys.

good to know they're lasting ,I'm also considering the 160-210 Goya ,$899.over here .alloy is not on the cards .broke 3 in 5 years .
so thats my last one either bent or broke .
I do have a 200-250 carbon ART ,its good ,but brought 2nd hand .getting tired ,its my main boom I use still a few years left in it .I'm also considering NP 160-220 .$1250 .

I'm just thinking with the Goya having 60% carbon and 40 % class ,would that make it stronger ? ,same as masts ,they claim 60 -75 %

You won't break a carbon boom with freeriding or jumping, don't overthink it. My Severne Enigma is almost 8 years old, have the one boom for freeride and wave sailing, still going strong.

Aluminium booms are just not suitable for the task imo. I've broke too many as well before finally getting a carbon boom. 100% worth the money, if not for confidence that it won't as easily break alone. As long as you don't have a massive catapult, they'll handle your sailing.
