the windwarrior blastshields have been designed for maximum heat retention but minimal impact on movement, the inner component is a metal lite substance with a rubber based coating which gives the garment added strength...

Have worn it 6 times, 2 x on it's own, found it warm and flexible, but with current windchill factor and cold water, the rest of body got cold, will be great for long summer days.

2 x with short wettie, and was superb in this combo, having not lasted too long in short wettie last time, with the blastshield on, could stay out for ages, and not have too get into long bulky inflexible wettie.

2 x with long wettie and works welldon't feel any more restriction, but plenty of warmth, just never liked long wettie's!

And hardie is your ideal cold weather gear tester, I don't know anybody who feels the cold more. Even with all that inbuilt insulation, he just freezes up as soon as it gets a bit cool. So If Hardie says he's warm, most people would feel like they're in a sauna!!!

5'2" and 100kg LUXURY!!!!!! I have a degenrative disc disorder and am now 4'11" and tipped the scales this morining @ 102kg!

At WindWarrior we have had some great feedback from our gear testers and team riders alike in regards to the Blastshield.
Luke Johnson KA86 just lurves his Blastshield for the extra protection it gives him when he's going for those 'extra big' moves. Luke tells us it not only cuts out the windchill effect but also helps out when it comes to canceling the 'water slap' factor.
Being at the 'slight' end of the spectrum the Blastshield kept Luke 'super warm' ...in fact his comment was that it was 'too warm' but he was wearing it at the end of Summer !
At the other end of the scale the Hardman reports the top fitted his ample frame well but did not restrict his movements. It kept him snug as a bug on its own and worked equally well under a wetsuit which is one of its key design points.
We can also report neither Luke nor gear tester 'Mad Dog' have been able to destroy their Blastshield. Anyone who has seen the punishment Luke dishes out to his gear in his constant quest for improvement will understand the significance of this.

For those who know the 'Dog' and have seen the state of his kit due to constant crash landings, lip launches, reef grindings, beach landings, mulitple collisions, miss timed jump & loop attempts and loose tie down straps... well if the Dog hasn't killed it yet we're pretty sure it wont happen.

It's the feedback we get from sailors of all levels that help us design and build the best possible garments. It's certainly not just a catchy marketing cry when we say 'designed for windsurfers by windsurfers'
WindWarrior is also putting the finishing touches on a planned 'Blastshield' give away comp... watch this space for further details and dates
