I've bought a Future Fly 97
It is comfortable and fast in chop , keen to hear any comparisons Etc
Bought it after Lake George Feb this year
would I need more of a specific speed style board to get to my goal 40 kn?????????

really depends on your weight and technical abilities, plus the right fin and sail...
but for speed in LG you can get away with a smaller board, around 70 litres, which would make it easier to go faster in the bearaways

I assume the Future Fly 97 is around 62 wide. It will do 40 at LG. Put a 22-24 quality delta under it. Have done 40 on 60 wide, 6.8 sail, 20 Tribal delta. Others have gone faster with bigger gear. This spot is very forgiving in regards to gear selection. Skills will bring speed
