There is a difference between surfing and windsurfing/kitesurfing wetsuits......
I hate the legs of my surfing steamer filling up with water so that I have an extra 4kg of water to carry

- windsurfing steamers (and the semi-dry type mainly) usually have tight fitting ankles and velcro straps to stop this. They also have loose forearm areas with tighter wrist seals so that the arms don't get as easily cramped when the bloodflow is restricted by tight neoprene.
The semi-drys are unreal because they let you fall in and if you get back out of the water in 10 seconds or so, you are still dry.Particularly nice when the water is below 10 degrees!
Most windsurfing steamers have pre-bent knees and some have built in shin guards (handy for shorebreaks)
