Tested the Unifiber carbon booms over the weekend. Very stiff, easy to adjust and light, build quality and finish is also on par with other brands:

- 100% carbon
- Monocoque
- Wide backend including pulleys (for the 160-220 and 180-240)
- Rdm mast adaptor
- 26mm tube diameter for the 140-190 and 28 for the 160 and up

The Unifiber Alu monocoque HD booms are also in stock as well as the Hard Top masts.

I just bought the slalom boom 180-240 off the team at the Windsurfing Shed... can't wait to give it ago as it'll be my first foray into Carbon Boom land

really enjoying my 160 - 220 Unifiber boom. Fits both my 7.0 & 6.3 Loft Blade's deep profile and rounded head makes hand transfer really smooth when gybing. Due to the fact I use a slightly larger dia RDM (Loft Bico) at boom height I've replaced the hard plastic shim with a rubber one that was kindly supplied by Ben Severne. Still getting used to the narrow diameter (28mm I think) but have found my arms are lasting much longer than if using a larger dia one.

Pretty good idea that stiffness test but lacks a bit of science:
- the widest point being different on most booms (it would be more accurate to measure at a fixed position from the boom head, ie line position)
- fixed load, everyone pulling a different load the data would be meaningless

Nominate the distance & weight, set the rules

In fact if the Unifiber wins the Challenge ($ / flex / weight) I will buy one

^^Don't forget grip diameter! You have faith in your test but with booms, nothing beats holding a product in the shop or down the beach.

The wave boom looks like another version of the trusty aeron/redline boom. Dead giveaways is the carbon finish, and the same head and clew cleat. Serviceable but nothing new.

Monocoque is not a selling point, and all these booms are resin infusion which is not F1 spec.
