Fastest I have ever been on a production board. The Thommen1 RS 59 boogied in the good winds about 25 in the gusts. Used a NP Saber 6.2 fully downhauled. The RS 59 handled well going fast in the chop doing 34.8 knots for a 100 litre board, if I hadn't have smashed the fin early in the session which meant unbelievably I delaminated one side of the fin and could not do more than 32 knots after that, would've cracked 35 for sure. At last I've got my hands on a fast production board!!!!

It has a fairly flat rocker with about 1 m straight, vee all the way through, it's 59cm wide and 237cm long. Rails have a slight tuck. Very light for a production board 5.something kilos. Tracks really well in the chop, inspiring confidence to just keep it going. Has 2 small cut outs in the tail reducing wetted surface, I imagine for top end speed. I reckon this board has the potential to do 40kts. Just need my Gaastra vapours, and a decent fin, flat water and decent blow, and I'm confident I will get close to 40 now.

It's a full carbon board which translate to a very stiff feeling but also very fast ride. You have to feel confident to just let it go, twas the first time i REALLY HAD IT GOING IN CHOP, AND i JUST KEPT GETTING FASTER 31.9, 33.8, 34.3, 34.8, then crack goes the fin, too lazy to have a look, and I could never go faster than 32 after that even though I sailed in stronger gusts and thought I would hit 35/6 knots. At the end of the sail, I look at the fin and one side has completely delaminated itself, leaving a pitted and rough surface, obviously slowing me down.

Awesome stuff hardie lad you like the board. Lets see how it goes with a new fin and some "fast sails. Stay tuned next week!!

38.2 knots today, a new pb, and I'm ecstatic!!!!!!!!!

This board is very fast, but most importantly, it is safe and controllable at speed, the vee, board rocker, and tail cut-outs just keep it tracking, no fear of board getting untidy at speed in chop.

On Wednesday I used my wave/slalom board which has a lot more rocker than this board, and it just ploughed too much...... which limited it's top end,...I wasn't gonna fall for that one today, so used the T1 RS 59, and this board just sailed and skimmed over the top of the chop, tracking perfectly, with no deviation what so ever.

This is a board I will highly recommend...... and It's so good, I'm gonna buy it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is awesome news. My mission is to get you to 40knots which I am sure you will get close to when the masts get to you for the vapors.

The T1's have a pedigree that few others can emulate. The team of Thommen and Dunkerbik are the most succesfull shaper/rider combo ever and it shows in the refinement of the boards.

I actually bought the T1 RS 54, but they had none left in Europe, so I have had a loan of the T1 RS 59, while I've been waiting for the 54 to be delivered, but I've fallen in love with the 59, so am gonna buy that as well. This board is so fn good,...... and believe me I'm stingy with my money, and will only fork out for something special..... which the T1 RS 59 most certainly is!!!!!!!
