Hi Guys

Just wondering if anyone has tried the T43 fins from tectonics? Im looking to get sizes 40 and 36 for my is 107 but Im just wondering how they perform.

I know the vector alpha is used in preference until its ridiculously overpowered then the t43 is used on the small slalom boards by MB

Seeing as there was so little info on the net me and a mate ended up biting the bullet and ordering 38cm and 40cm T-43 fins to try for ourselves. Will be doing a short write up for those that are interested once weve had a chance to use em.

Looking forward to your thoughts Phyx1u5. I've just swapped my 48 Talon for a C3 StingII 46 in my iS117W and it has completely transformed the performance and comfort of the board.

I have never tried the C3 stingII so cant comment but I would like to try them one day to compare with the T-43's.

Just took another couple photos comparing the profile of the Talon 38 vs the T-43 38, the talon is wider at the base with a slightly more swept back profile.
In pics below T-43 is on top of talon in first pic and T-43 is above Talon in 2nd pic.

Not tried too many fins around the 40cm size,but have found the choco fireblade 2 44cm G10 fin to be amazing.

I use it on my 69cm wide Fanatic.The longer length stops any feel of possible spinout,aids in pointing high and as the fin is quite soft with a very thin leading edge,the topspeed and control especially in the chop is by far the best i have come across.

Keen to hear how they compare to the talon. I use a talon 42 for my 73 cm slalom board, but with a recent upgrade to a gruntier sail the 42cm feels a bit small unless I'm well powered.

Is the t43 a replacement for the Talon?

Can't go wrong with Vector fins, i use the Canefire 42 carbon 39 G10 for all around or the Volt 40, Those fins is developed for racing with max pressure on the fin at all times…will perform in any conditions.
This weekend i used the 42 slalom weed fin was unstoppable, no spin out what so ever.

so what are your impressions on the T-43 vs. Talon?
I was able to sail a couple times with a T-43 38 cms.; in my view it feels more 'solid' than the Talon with better control at speed; but is less forgiving and requires a careful precise input and consistent overpowering. What's your idea?
I would also like to know how does it compare vs. the Vector Volt, Alpha and VX, maybe someone will help?

Hi GeoITA, yes you are correct, the T-43 feels more solid than the Talon. Its got feedback like the Tomcat but the speed feels like the Talon.

I have used the 40 in ocean conditions with large swell and messy chop and the 38 I have used in standing waves/chop and both feels very controllable, it never felt like the fin was going to spit you off. It does feel like the nose of the board flies lower than on the Talon so might have to play around with mast position/boom height to lift the nose a bit more otherwise it might feel sticky.

I havent had a chance to GPS the speeds so I cant really comment on the actual speed but it feels as fast as the Talon but a lot less slippery underfoot so a lot more confidence to push hard and keep pushing so the speed potential feels higher than the Talon. It also appears to get on a plane earlier than the Talon.
If you do happen to spin out, it doesnt really feel like you have spun out and pulling it back in place is a breeze.

I havent had a chance of comparing with the other fins you mentioned but i hope this helps.
