I had to wait to get my new S1 5.3 & 4.7 in Sydney but the wait was worth it. These sails do live up to the reviews in UK mags and are much lighter due to the new sail cloth severne uses. I got the S1 because the big monofilm window gives really good visibility looking down the line and the design suits lighter sailers like me (69kg). The one thing I did notice is that there is lots of attention to detail and the new cloth seems very strong and just as "tight" as monofilm. Also a big thanks to Chris & Sam at WindSurfnSnow for getting the sails in for me and being very fair with the price - cheers guys and I'll probably get more stuff from you after Xmas.

just wondering what type of mast and boom you are using on the s1's?
Ive been using an autima part carbon boom and ezzy skinny with the 2006 s1's. the ezzy skinny looks just like the powerex and seems to go well. my autima broke two days ago after three heavy seasons. the aluminium section at the front sheared off. the new ones supposedly full carbon
cheers

I use a powerex 400 but have used an Ezzy skinny in the psat and rate them very highly. I just use a generic Surf Sail Australia boom that I got last year from Broadway Surf Sail that works very well - good price too. As the 5.3 only needs about 177cm you only need an aluminum boom
good luck

I bought the Surf Sail Boom (autima) as it went from 140 to 190cm. The aeron full carbon only went out to 180cm and my s1 5.7 is 184
