2007 RRD 95 Freestyle Wave vs 2007 JP 93 Freestyle Wave. Which would you choose and why?

The JP. It's better.

I have the JP 93 FW. It is the best fw board i have had. it ****s all over the fanatic 98. It has been said in many test reveiws that it is the market leader. and that it will continue to set the standard for these types of boards.

The JP and RRD offerings both get rave reviews year on year. Try em both.

ive got a bit older FSW is is just sooooooooo good!!!! dont have a bad thing to say about it!!

both boards are great but build quality RRD always wins

I don't get it. Freestyle wave? Aren't they two different styles? Freestyle and wave. Totally different concepts.

I wouldn't use a freewave board in the waves ever! You can't combine the two in the same board.

They're for river rats who want to pretend that they go in the waves

I've got an RRD Wave cult (04) and the build quality is phenomenal. Super strong layup and still really light, it craps over any board i've used build quality wise (F2, JP, *board). I've punished the crap out of it and it keeps coming back for more, unlike the others :P

I really have no idea about the two boards mentioned but if they are getting similar reviews I'd go the RRD simply due to my previous statement.

I have same JP wave board real World wave not FreeStyle Wave) for more than 2 seasons now.
This board very strong, no signs of stress, crease or crack
This board has big punishment for sure
Many big flat landings from mis timed push loops.
Board very strong.
I weigh near 90 kilo and board has taken serious hamering and is still perfect

I cannot fault the JP build quaility

my last 3 jp boards have all gone soft inbetween the front and back straps, and there the full wood sangas..... this has happens about 1/2 way into my 2nd season......

maybe it's the way i sail or i'm unlucky or jp's are weak in this area....

The RRDs are faster and more lively, more responsive. The one I have tried (04) didn't have a lot of pop and was a little difficult to release on small chop. Awesome construction though, no doubt - super stiff, super tough.

I tried it on flat water and in the waves and found it to be a lot of fun in both. On the flat it was speedy and held a straight line very nicely. Carved gybes like a dream. I don't do freestyle so I can't comment on that.

On a wave it felt a little stiff but was very fast and accessible. much fun.

Where it is supreme is in bump and jump conditions - extra speed from the stiffness and flat bottom under the straps but enough rocker to cross whitewater with ease. Good jumping and maneuverable enough to make fun of smaller waves on the way in.
