Hey fellas there is a review of the RRD Freestyle wave in the latest boards mag.

Gets a good wrap; early planing, good bump and jump, whilst still being a good big wave board. Don't know who stocks them in QLD down here in VIC SHQ have a few of them they look nice.

2nd Wind in Melville WA sell em'. Gotta agree, they look great!

100L freestyle board is where its at at least for around here anyway.

Nothing wrong, I just think that freestyle boards are a better all round board for our conditions. You have a 100L JP freestyle at the moment?

I had a 09 JP FSW 92L Pro Edition last season, and I found that compared to the boards I have now, it planed maybe 2kts slower and didn't plane through the lulls as well. The FSW didn't carve as well and was less stable for freestyle shenanigans. And at my weight, it isn't really a better board in waves then my current freestyle boards. So for me the freestyle boards in light winds do everything a freestyle wave does either as well or better, plus plane 2kts earlier.

There ok boards SHQ in vic sell them for $3500 if you want one..

If you want freestyle, you get a freestyle board.
In the RRD range that would be the Twin-Tip 100.
The tag"Free style wave" has been around for quite some time and is accepted as describing a board that is really a higher wind free-ride board, that usually has a flatter rocker line than a pure wave board, but, in the smaller sizes works in the waves &, in the larger sizes, has lighter wind abilities that allow riders to try their freestyle, and many sailors can't afford to, and don't want to buy a pure free style as well as a freerider.
The FSW, especially the LTD, is the perfect all rounder.
