Alex for what you will be using it for you can't go wrong I've owned a few over the years and for the money I think they are good value especially considering you can get a 160 220 which will cover alot of sail sizes.n

get the 140-200... don't think you need the bigger size unless you plan on getting sails above 7m

I bought one (hybrid - predator I think its name was, brown, thin grip) a couple of years ago, 3 sessions and it went back to the shop with a bend either side of the harness lines on the starboard side, I did catapult at over 30 knots with it but the way it bent it looked like it was made of cheese.
Went back to using carbon, its worth the extra.

Hi dancing banana

Like you I'm waiting to be able to afford a carbon boom. Meanwhile I bought a prolimit Assault (v Grip) 180/240 that covers from 5.7 to 7.8.

Very solid, took me a few sessions to get used to the vgrip but I'm really enjoying it now.

Seems of much better construction than the two last RRD booms I broke in less than 6 months.

Without photos, those boom ads are useless. How old and how used are they?

You check out board crazy? They had some great deals going on new kit a little while ago.
