Sure will be interesting to see what sail Ben Severne develops for Phillip Koster
to use in his bid to return to World Wave Championship !!
I for one would love to see him on the brilliant S1

having recently tested the Blade and having sailed a Combat for a couple of seasons now I'd say he'll be pretty comfortable on the Blades. Both sails are pretty similar. The Combat is a bit more solid in build but other than that the feel is very similar.

RE the S1, it's a very different type of sail. I think he would benefit from the S1 in bigger sizes as they are super light and definitely have an advantage for heavier riders in light wind wave sailing conditions.

But as I said both the Combat and Blade are pretty good no fuzz wave sails.

from what I heard he only used 4.8 regardless of wind strength, which is also what quite a few of the other pros do

Agree with everything you have said, some xply made be needed!! But don't discount the S1 as only for light wind sailing, I have a 4.3 and used in the proper wind conditions it is very stable and powerful, while remaining knife like in handling, like taking slices of wind, sublime really.

I have and sail a mix of combats and S1 s and there is a difference in the sails, each has its own strengths, but looking at Koster's style of sailing, and comparing what Dany Bruch does with the S1, and how they both combine multiple fluid moves on one wave face, I think we made be in for another elevation of wave sailing performance with Koster on an S1. Additionally the jumping and rotational abilities of Koster combined with the high lift point and rotational quickness of the S1, may well result in a destruction of wave faces worldwide.
Maybe there will be a S1 Koster special edition?
Or an even more incredible new never before seen advancement in wave sails coming from the mind of Ben Severne, inspired by Koster !!
Very exciting times to come!

Finally get to see Phillip Kosters new look.

I hope they will also make some XS-1s in blue. My first proper sail (the one I learnt to plane on) was a blue severne microwave, since then all my sails have been orange or red.

Why would Philip need a new sail line? I'd imagine that the Blades will fit his style pretty well.

He likes the Blades, he needs the power for his size also the forward pull and the stability of the 5 battens which the blades have heaps of, for jumping and double forwards etc. well that's what he told me
