it doesn't look good for the Grand Prix then.

Maybe I'll move on to the Futura 111.

cheers Mick

The May issue of Boards Mag had a review on a few free race boards and the Naish was right up there with the front runners.

Not sure who does their colour schemes on the Naish boards and sails but they need to brighten up their gear the gear looks drab not saying the designs are no good but doesn't catch the eye.

I've got the 2008-09 SP-which evolved into the Grand prix .Its a great board & handles anything from a 7.0-9.0 .
Its one of those boards that you immediately feel comfortable on .
Fins that work -38 sting through to 43 Select S10 & 44 venom.
I've clocked 34 knots on it & reckon the ideal sail size is the 7.8 .
I use it a lot for open ocean cruising between Green Island & the back of Arlington Reef .
If there is a downside its that it doesnt point up wind so well with the bigger sail sizes ie 8.6/9.0
Sail pilot has the 2010 model so worth talking to him .

Cheers Cam

Appreciate your time.

Looking around at reviews and recent mag articles it appears hard not to be pointed towards the futura.

Thanks mate

A couple of people I sail with have Naish Grand Prix's and they like them. I know the older SP boards were good apart from the 80L. I have a 2011 Futura 111 and just love it really early planing and quick, comfortable to sail.

Hi,

the Naish Grand Prix have proven it self in several tests and when it comes to speed and gybing the Naish GP out performed the futura. Read the test here:

I own 2011 grand prix 110, fun board to sail. Luckily last season in Tassie the wind was strong most of the time so I used smaller boards. I hope I have that problem this season as well.

I will comment that the standard fin is very stiff and would spin out at times. Now I use a C3 Venom 40 which vastly improved the boards overall performance.

Cheers Russ
