Neilpryde with its testing team of Pieter Bijl (chief tester), Sebastian Kornum and Gabriel Brown is developing a version of its new Fomula Windsurfing racing Evo V.

In the pictures taken from the blog of the house which is sponsoring the current world champion in the discipline, the Frenchman Antoine Albeau, it is clear that the tests are moving forward in the final version of what will become Presumably one of the most coveted pieces of market sails FW.

Measures as usual will be 10, 10.7 and 12 square meters and will be available from March.

Head Tester, Pieter Bijl, had this to say about the new sizes:
"For the new Formula sizes, we adjusted the luff curves and outlines, making the sails more December balanced. We also used a variety of brands During the development board To ensure the sail is versatile for as many sailors as possible. With a slight change to settings and trim the sail can match the ride characteristics of different boards to promote 'pointing, power or speed upwind. We have also tested with different shapes and weights sailor. "

Important members of the test team this year were Kornum Sebastian and Gabriel Browne. Sebastian had this to say about the 12.0 and 10.7m sails:
"The new 12.0 to 12.0 what has needs. It gets planing in extremely light winds and ounces you are going this sail does not stop. At the same time you will get a much better feeling with your board and feel more December confident and connected with it. has an unbelievable 10.7 The wind range and is easy to handle even in strong winds two to its incredible stability. Just play with the outhaul to make the sail suit the conditions. "

What NP needs is developing new high-performance masts as the discontinued Ultra X9.
I can´t believe that these sails are working with the current 550 X100, it is by far the worst and heaviest mast ever by NP.

I'm curious about your comments regarding the 550 X100. I haven't been sailing Formula Boards for that long and I was sold a 550 with the assurance that it was a good mast.

Just because it's on Seabreeze doesn't make it true Niall. Comments by name nameless, faceless people are a dime a dozen these days on the Internet.

??? Well, yes, I just got registered in Seabreeze and I only have a couple of comments, (I will upload some pics if you want to see my ugly face). I am a "foreign" to Seabreeze, (I happen to live in a remote country - Spain), but I often read your forum with interest. I have been windsurfing since 1981 and competing for quite some time in local and European Formula regattas. I do not know what leads you to think that my above comment is not true...

I have owned quite a few NP racing sails from the last decade (RS1, RS5's, RSRacing´s and RS EVO IV) with a few of the Ultra X9 masts. This range of Italian-made X9 masts from 2007-2009 were the best ever produced by NP. Period. But the continuous breakages were indeed a pain in the *?##* .... NP stopped producing them and they switched their mast production to China. You only have to compare visually an old X9 with the newer X100… the difference is rather obvious in construction, weight, etc. The top NP Formula sailors over here prefer to use their old X9 Ultra´s and at least the EVO IV rigs and performs way better with the discontinued masts.

I hope that this make some sense now!

There is nothing fast about a broken mast. NP should focus on reliability and if that means 500gms I'm pretty happy with that.
