I have purchased this board for the sole purpose of riding waves in 15knots. I am 6' 4" weight 105kgs. It appears impossible to buy a light wind "true" wave board for big blokes.
Has anyone ever used the Mistral Syncro 115 in waves 2 - 6 foot, or can anyone recommend a good wave board around 115 - 120 liters if such a thing exists.
I have been sailing WA for the last 20 years and always sailed Wave Boards. This season I am looking for some fun in light winds so I can be in the water all day and get divorced.
I Currently ride the 2001 Naish Wave 92 litre. Naish this year have a 95 litre Board designed for bigger blokes. At least someone is looking after the big men in serious wave conditions!
I reckon there could be a market for this type of light wind wave board!!
Any advise would be appreciated.

there was a guy up at lennox which was riding one of those with a 6.8 over summer on the lighter days and it seemed to go alright. both the Syncro's and the JP x-cites are kinda made with that in mind, as long as it isn't anything to stupid.

Big bird, I just traded my Exocet Original wave 105 on an Exocet Cross 117 Freestyle wave. I weigh 107kgs and would highly recommend both boards. My high wind board is a 95litre Exocet. Had a really good run with the brandtouch wood

I too am looking for a board around this volume for playing in the waves. I weigh 94kg. Seems to me that if you're gonna be fluffing around in 10-12 knot winds, you're gonna have to uphaul sometimes to get going. Can you guys do it with these boards (being shorter, wider etc) or aren't you worried about it? I'm just talking about uphauling to get out of trouble here (eg dying seabreeze), not as a matter of course.

Per (he's only 68kg) was riding this successfully at Gnaraloo this season - if he can carve it a 100 kg guy should be able to bury the rail on the thing and go square at the lip.

Just another option for you to consider.

Alot of guys are saying the evo 92 rides WAY bigger than its stated volume - this is a function of nose and tail width. the guys down at gerooa have been frothing over some of the older fishes which work in a similar kind of way.

I have seen Scotty Mckercher (83kg) boosting airs at 10ft (real 10ft - mast and a half sets) margies in sub planing conditions on this thing - just another option worth checking.

The fish boards are definately the way to go. My light wind wave board used to be a 95ltr rrd cult wave but i recently changed down to an 85ltr tabou pocket wave as my light wind board and this board rocks!! planes as quick as the 95 cult, but carves soooo much better. I think you should definately give the fish boards a go, tabou has a 92ltr or the evo 92 would be my picks. One of these should give you the light wind fix you crave.
Carbon art made a custom board for a 110kg guy at my local, this board looks and goes really well, not sure how much it cost though
