I have now used the Loft Lip 2009 a number of times in the 5.7 and 5.2 (4.7 yet to get wet). It is not a lot different to the 2008's in panel layout but does have some nice new features - in particular the new batten tensioner's which are easier to remove.

As for the performance these sails really do impress - the 5.7 can get me planing in 15 knots (weighing in at 94kgs) on a wave board and I can still handle gusts up to 28 knots (Saturday evening!). It is highly tunable with both the outhaul and downhaul.

It's also built extremely well with no monofilm but maintains a light feel. Matched with the correct Loft RDM 100% and a good boom it really does feel like a quality rig.

Will be at Gerroa on the weekend if anyone fancies a quick go!

Hi Crash Ive also got the 5.2 Lip wave and love it.
Im normally on full race sails and its been awhile since having a wave kit but I felt right at home with the Lip wave very stable and easy to use and heaps of fun.
Its seems to have a very big range ive sailed it from 20-30 knots without too much problems on the Pure acid 80 sweet combo.

It's probably a 150 litre wave board , only kidding

Why would this be a problem in the surf? I've seen bigger guys get going in flat water. 15 knots consistent is quite a good wind.

It's a 99ltr wave board with a big fin and I have to pump a bit.
