Have had this fin out twice now and am greatly impressed. On my local water weed is a real problem and and getting a good fast weed fin was always a problem, so after getting a lessacher 24cm chameleon I ordered a 32cm duo cut weed.

Fin is super solid - fully loading up the fin has no hint of spinout (both upwind and on screaming broad reach.) I even deliberately tried to induce spinout with no effect.

Using a 114 slalom and a 7.5m sail was a perfect match for this fin and even got a PB for that board.

Once again Wolfgang was easy to deal with and is always willing to answer my stupid questions.

So if you are after a fast solid weed fin - try one of these..

I have just ordered a 28cm to use with my 105lt Hypersonic/6.5m combo.

The 30cm select weed spun out a lot in the chop over the weekend and I could not get upwind as much as Red.

I already have a 36cm Duo Weed for my bigger board and am very happy with its performance so I have no hesitation in getting another.

Pat ...

I still think a 30cm fin would suit you better than the 28cm!!

But I want to go fast and am prepared to sacrifice a little upwind performance for those extra knots. Got to be better than .186 dont you reckon?
Plus Wolfgang says he has sailed the hyper and a 28 will be fine. Besides if I have to get another one, so be it. Lets face it, you cant ever have too much windsurf gear lol.

So, why would you choose the duo-cut weed instead of the chameleon? Are they meant for different uses?

I contacted Wolfgang re: chameleon vs duo weed. My understanding is that the chameleon is a better fin for powered up conditions/rough water and the duo weed is a better fin for outright speed ( I'm sure Wolfgang can help me out here)

I contacted wolfgand and asked him what would be a better fin for my setup - 70cm wide slalom and 6.6m, 7.5m and 8.3m sails. His thoughts are that the duo weed would be a slightly faster fin in lighter conditions.

Either way having both fins - i'm greatly impressed with both

I have recently purchased the duo weed 28cm and am impressed with its speed and its ability to counter spin-out for really only a little loss in pointing ability. - Also got a PB for the board first day out with it.

Do you order these fins directly from the maker or can they be bought in store?

How much is the going rate for one of these fins?

You order them direct from Wolfgang (I can pm you his email if you want). The price of the 28cm 100% carbon duo weed he just quoted me is 100 euro + 37 euro for post.

As of 8.45am today, 1 Australian dollar = 0.521525886 Euros

This could change at any time though lol.
