FORMULA = Phil McGain. First at the start and the finish line for every race riding his trusty JP Formula Speed board, Phil did what it took to get the job done each and every time. Always aware of not only the slightest change in wind direction but also the strength of the current at different parts of the course, Phil flawlessly executed perfect tacks and jibes to keep him in front of the pack around the course, securing 8 bullets in a row.

The JP Formula board which Phil received only a few weeks before the event, was a dream to ride in all conditions and provided Phil all the range necessary to climb above the fleet after the starts and put distance on them all during the downwind legs.

Phil commented after the event: "I just love the new Formula board from JP, it does everything I've always wanted in the new style Formula board but could never find it, until I jumped on Micah's board and knew we were a match right away. It's easy to win races when you let the board do most of the work."

Phil McGain yet again put on a solid performance, taking 1st place in both formula and slalom to become the 2012 Overall US National Champion!
