Just curious as to the difference between say the 2008 model JP FSW (which I own) and the more newer models, say 2011 and 2012. Is there a noticle change / feel to the newer boards? Has much changed in those few years? And also can anyone compare the thruster model to the standard single fin?

Talking primarily bay and wave riding, with a little lake blasting on the side.

Love my 08' (Pro) model, turns unreal, plans easily, and is very forgiving for my abilitly. Am I missing something magical with the newer boards??

Cheers for any info.

I have a pro 2010 ( I think) it's great for bump and jump but for the life of me I can't get it comfortable for blasting, out board straps and a freeride fin just don't seem to gel. Single strap on the back and some swell it's an awesome board, now I just need to sort out the slippery deck.

Hey Lee,

Interesting you say the deck is slippery. Mine (which I'm certain is 2008) is like sand paper- worn half my toes off! Maybe the later models have less grip? Can't comment on the foot strap positions as I've never moved them front centre. Feels fine for blasting with the straps in too me, though over 25 knots and the little fin that came with it can blown out at anytime I run mine with a 35 cm fin for flatwater, feels solid.
