Alright lets get it rolling

.
The superfreak.
My quiver consists of 5.3 5.8 and 6.3. my 5.3 is a 2008 model, and the other 2 are 2006's,
The 5.3 is on the skiny mast wich by Jeffery hendersons mast guide rates a 9 out of 10
where as the 5.8 and 6.3 are on a drop shape mast wich only rates a 6.5 to 7.5 out of 10 by the guide.
this may not sound like its somethign that you need to know but its important for you to know for what im going to say about performance.
the 5.3 is my main sail i use ( soon to be 5.0 for my 2009 shipment

) and i use it for its lowend power by high end controll and i believe this is only possible because i have a great mast for it.
the 5.8 and 6.3 are really only used for the lighter wind days when i need the overall controll than rather power, meaning that i need to work a bit harder to get on the plain, but i believe this is only due to the mast, if i had the correct mast i think i would get much better low end power like i have with my 5.3.
Visibilty,
the pvc panel is placed so you get great vision both infront and to the side of you, and i personally dont notice it at all and can see straight through with out need to duck or anything like that to see.
obviosly you wont get as good of vision as a sail like the fire or so wich has all seethrough panels, but it doesnt effect it.
now there is a new rang of superfreaks coming for 2009, (and is already available) of Superfreaks UL (ultra lights), wich are made with a mixture of the dacron and a new material wich is much lighter, but just as strong, wich only works out to be around 500 to 600 grams lighter but makes it feel like it is 2 or 3 sail sizes smaller than it actually is, but still produces the same amount of power.
and seeing that you are wanting a big sail for wave sailing... i presume you would want it for lighter days, with big boards. and this is what the UL is really made for. you dont want to be slogging out to the waves with a heavy feeling sail without your harness, meening that by the time you get to the break and have a couple of runs your arms wil be dead and you will need to come in. so if you where to go out with a 6.3mtr sail wich only feels like its 5.5, you will get much more sailing time which can only add up to one thing!
If you want anymore info on SF's or the UL range you can PM me, reply back to this, or check out the HSM freakout! forums,
