I've been using the Custom 114 for over a year and love the board but had a chance to break in the 94ltr today. This board is phenomenal. Just had an awesome slightly side off day with head high waves and thing was just amazing. Handled some rough conditions like butter on the outside, gripped the waves and was really controlled on the inside, just a phenomenal board. The float is incredibly well distributed on the board and the responsiveness is just amazing. I'm not an advanced wave sailor by any means but this board gives me hope!

For 100kg, you'd go 94 or 104, for 80% sideon sailing?
Have you hade the possibility to compare it to the custom 3, fanatic grip, jp's or Quatro cube?

How much wind? Much lighter but I have a Goya freeride (yes!) that I used in the waves, 105L phenomenal! 23cm fin single. Better than any freewave and possibly even wave boards! Just a touch slow (hard to get it all!).

Love my Custom 2020 Quad 104. It's has a faster rocker than the smaller boards but I've had it out in some victory at sea and it just cuts through it like butter.
I know it's an overused term but it's so darn Plug and Play. I'm 80 Kg's btw.

I'd would consider the Goya Custom 3, too.
The C4 104 and 114 seem very dedicated lightwind shapes. Just look at the width and length of these shapes and compare them to the C3 98 and 106.
The C4s carry a lot of area for slog and ride conditions and there's a big gap regarding dimensions to the C4 94.
Unfortunately Goya left a gap between the C4 94 and 104 for us 90+ kg guys looking for a highwind or smallest board.
Therefore I ended up with a C3 98 as my small board for my 93 kg.
Maybe the C3 106 would be the best pick for you?

Good points. I think the tie breaker would be the conditions you are looking to get the most out of. I'm thinking if you want cross offshore wave conditions, C4, if more onshore, look at the C3.

I've got a 88/90l. low rocker very thin waveboard for medium (stable) to high wind. My best board ever, very early planing and very sane off the plane, but too small for gusty wind & light wind. Even in medium wind when I plane easily, I feel a lack of volume underfoot in the surf if not really powered up / fast wave. I've just understood that recently...

Is there a real gap between the C4 104 and the C3 98 in terms of early planing / glide in lightwind (when you want to go upwind) and on the other side in terms of surfing ability? I would go for the C4 as instinct, but I wouldn't like to shorten the lightwind sideon possibilities significantly.

I cannot understand why those successful goya shapes have parallel MT boxes with no toe in . I ve tried the Custom 4 ---which has better glide in comparison to 2019 model (IMO more radical) due to being wider and the distribution of liters more to the center and back------- with 3o toe in fins and it was f amazing

It really does come down to how you want to ride. I would pick any of the three boards in the just over 100 liter category. They all plane fast which is what you need in your quiver, but the quad stays planted and smooth, the 3 you can feel some pop that makes you want to jump but still carves a tight arc, the One is also a a fun board in its own right, that leans more towards waves slightly then a pure B@J board.

What brand and type fins are that Snapfigure? Those are not sprayed K4 Ezzy's right? 3 degrees toe in asymmetric front?

Word on the street is the maui built custom Goya/Quattro boards have toe. I ran 2degree K4 in mine and much preferred it, can't get the locals to try them though.

There is a huge room for improvement. Fins play a major role and have a great impact on the behavior of the board. In the surf industry fins have evolved to a great degree. I cannot understand why windsurf do not benefit from that Only one windsurf company has evolved windsurf fins. We have created our own patent (CPR) which gives you +++++ options. IMO K4 are ..... look at the thickness of the plastic

I'm sure they do not have tow in because of the varity of conditions around the world. Some use the boards in mushy cross on with heavy current others use the boards for perfect DTL conditions. As a company I would launch a product which fits to most of the existing conditions and which always result in a compromise. When you ride everyday in sideoff on a reef break with masthigh waves running in like a train you do not need straight boxes and you do not want to have a freaking fast board.

I ride mushy side on and I'm telling you toe-in doesn't slow anything down. If anything it's faster.

You're right could be the case. Depends on board bottom shape, side fin length and if you use asymmetric side fins or not and which toe angle they have. I just wanted to point out that there might be a different view on Board builder side.

I'm willing to bet it's a cost thing. Toe is another complication that needs QC to get correct and the Cobra factory boards are all about volume production.
The board I have with built in toe is a Kinetic produced board.

My board is a Simmer, don't know which others.

I agree it is phenomenal .Ive been riding the 94 for the past year,i've always had goya quads and can say hands down this is the best model I've ever ridden in the waves.Im 83kg and use it from
15k fnr up to 30k.Dont know how they'll improve on it this year but will be amazing if they do.

Everyone I've talked to has liked them. Meanwhile I'm still enjoying my 2015 models, especially the 104 which is awesome on the lighter days. Anyone compared 2020 to 2018? Looks like quite a change in width and thickness. Cheers Jens
