Considering a Flying object FLUX 3-2mm wetsuit but cannot find any reviews, does anyone use them?
I like the appeal of being cut for windsurfing as do suffer arm pump and I end up cutting the arms off suits.
I also want a suit that is flexible enough for surfing & SUPing where i don't end up fighting the suit resistance. Is the Flux suit suitable for windsurf, surfing and SUP? or am better off buying a super flexi suit such as ebomb. Currently have a NP steamer which is fine for windsurfing but too stiff for more than an hours surfing/supping.
Any suits out there with durable smooth skin for preventing wind chill. Been using the Xcel smooth skin 2mm jackets for last 4 seasons and best invention ever (except tight arms again) and very durable smooth skin. Would like to get the full suit 3-2mm version but not happy with having to cut the arms of a winter suit and they seem impossible to obtain in Aus.
Hi Peguin,
Just a little insight into our suits. We manufacture our suits in one of the top factories and use the same materials / construction methods as many of the high end surf brands. The neoprene used in the Flux series is very stretchy so you will not have any issues with resistance or feeling stiff.
I predominately Windsurf and SUP, so much of the design is focused around the suit allowing total freedom of movement. Having moved from a back zip to a chest zip allows much better upper body movement and especially while paddling a SUP.
For the 2015 range I made a few small tweaks to the fit, allowing for a tighter seal around the neck and a snugger fit in the chest. This has made the Flux suits a little more all round usable for SUP / Surf but we maintain the same cut and features that make our suits more specific to the sports we manufacture for. The Flux does incorporate some smooth skin in the chest and back as this is used to heat the upper body quicker as we spend more time above the water. These days a good double lined sealed suit is as warm as your going to need but far more practical, durable, lighter and less expensive than a smooth skin suit.
There are really not that many full smooth skin suits available (especially in Oz), many brands have shifted towards more Hybrid styles that incorporate double lined in areas for stretch and maneuverability. Even in Europe sales are declining in smooth skin as they have so many limiting factors.
Hope this helps some
Cheers,
Marco
