had my first sail of the season today and my first go on my new toy.

Reliable Gerroa came up with the goods yet again. 5m weather with waist to head high waves.
Smooth down the line conditions perfect to test the new board.

It took a few waves to dust off the cobwebs after no sailing during winter.

The drive of this board out of the bottom and top turns is amazing, the speed you can generate pumping the board before you line up a cutty or a lip is sick. The tight arcs that would usually bog a single are a stand out being able to do a proper gouging cutback and still maintain your speed is one of the things that stand out with this board.

One of the criticisms of the multi fin boards is the lack of projection out of the lip and that may be true for some. But what this and I suspect some other quads do, is allow you to do a tighter bottom turn and re direct yourself to get under the lip for more projection. So while the some may say there is a lack of projection it actually makes it easier to hit the lip.

I'm not trying to turn this into a Quad Vs other boards post, I still own singles and love them they are just different.

If you really enjoy making turns on waves and lots of them you should try this board.

Very keen on a Fanatic twin review. I am thinking about getting the 72, 79 and 93...

October Boards mag just reviewed 86lt Fanatic twin as part of their 85lt wave board test and rated it as about the best of that size group for intermediate to advanced wavesailors.
I have last seasons twin which is exactly the same as the 2011 just different colours and can't fault it.
