Can anyone give me comments on the light wind performance and wave performance of the above board. I'm 65kgs. and want to use this as my light wind wave board.

I have an 04 85 liter freewave its great for all all conditions from about 10 knots with 5.9 - 35 knots with 5.0 i am 65 kg aswell. One thing that is wrong with it for me is that it isn't big enough for easy learning of most freestyle moves

I use this years(06) FW 88 as my light wind wave board. I'm about 73kg and i love it. Plenty enough float to get out on anything. It planes like a champion. I plane at the same time as the guy's 10kg lighter. I actually have trouble deciding which is my favourite board. The 75 or the 88. But in the light stuff the 88 rips. When it blows, I can't wait to wet the 75.

Anything with Goyas name on it will rip >>>>>>>>
Fanatic made garbage until Francisco came to their part. Your weight in Kgs plus 10L is the volume for a light wind board. Any less and you don't float.

I have that same board. I'm 71kgs and it's my "light" wind board, ie 16kts + and planing with a 5.4. Takes a bit of technique for me to get it going in 16kts, but it's not too hard. It pops onto the plane better than any other board I've ever owned- and I've had quite a few. I think it's due to its width and light weight. Only sailed in onshore waves a bit over 1 metre, but it's nice and slashy, yet just as quick, if not quicker than anyone else on the water. I'm very happy with it as a light to medium wind board, but it gets a bit big for comfort over 25kts with a 4.7, when I change down to an Acid 74. It's still very well behaved at the top end though. Took about a minute to have me sold when I went for a demo sail.
