Roughly Translated
Took this board out for a short sharp 1/2hr session tonight and basically, this board blew me away.
This is a small board (for me being 6'1" and 90kg) with dimensions of:
238cm (7'9")
58cm wide
91 litresF2 Describe it as a Freestyle board designed for blasting.
I was quite happy after taking it out last week and making a gybe (hey, gybing is a bench mark for me) in 40 knots before flagging it.
Tonight the conditions were more user freindly.
So to describe how it goes.
Getting it onto plane is easy, a bit of front foot presure a couple of flicks of the sail and we're away. Not bad for a 90kg Elmo
Speed is good, it deals with chop at ease.
The board pionted up wind so easily that it gave me some great down wind runs.
The handling is wonderfull, what realy blew me away is the freestyle aspect of this board.
Now I'm what you would class as an intermetdiate sailor. I can go reasonably fast in a straight line, I can wave sail but still regularly Splatt Gybe. I don't do the freestyle thing and I rarely jump.
This board had me blasting along looking for chop to hit and chop hop, I even managed a couple of pops of flat water.
Absolutely stunned, this wee beastie sits under your feet saying "go for it".
It's feels so small and light that I just couldn't help myself.
On the gybing side of things, I did the Splatt thing twice when I gybed into a hole (in the wind) during the half hour session.
Looking forward to giving it a couple more goes before I have to take it back (that was the sad face)
Anyone who can do the Freestyle Thang and likes blasting as well are going to love this.
