Could anyone provide performance details on Ezzy Freeride sails. How do the 2009, 2010 and 2011 compare

Sorry. Any comments would be appreciated on the Ezzy Freerides and not necessarily perfomane details. I am only a freeride sailor of intermediate (2 years) experience. I have only used Neil Pride Solo sails of 7.5m, 6.5m and 5.5m. I am considering the Ezzy Freeride sails as I think their durability would be better than the NP solo sails which are monofilm.

Anything would be more durable than NP...

I have had a few Ezzy freerides. A 2008, 2009 Infinity (2 cam) and now a 2010 model. Great sails. I know it's often said but the Ezzy's do have a good wind range. You can easily get away with 1-1.5m spacing if your trying to keep kit to a minimum, depending on water conditions of course. Very easy sails to rig. Excellent build quality. The 2010 models feel lighter in the hands, probably due to the new materials now being used.

Another thing I should note is they sell quickly when wanting to upgrade. All of my previous Ezzy's sold quick, another brand I couldn't get rid of.

I've had two quivers of Ezzy wave sails, but only one freeride (2009 infinity).

It's awesome. Truly amazing wind range, especially if you've got an adjustable outhaul. If they came in sub-6m sizes I'd get another one for speed sailing as well.

Got a full quiver of Ezzy Freerides 5.0 to 8.5 in half increments,oldest 2009.
Extremely well made and very durable, built to last a long time.Quality second to none.Quite a large windrange for each sail. Sets with a deep concave shape without the use of cams.You cant go wrong with these.

These two statements are sort of, kind of contradictory... 8 sails when you should have a max of three I believe if the windrange of the sails is indeed large

It means he doesn't need to come in to change sails if the wind gets up. Nothing wrong with having a sail for all occasions.

Yeah i got a big quiver but so did Robin Hood . Also my better half also sails so all the sails get used.

Just to clarify my quiver of Ezzy sails are 5.0,5.5,6.0,6.5,7.0,7.5 and 8.5 haven't got an 8.
Usually i sail with a metre more than the missus but sometimes we are only half a metre apart.

I'm using a 2010 7m Freeride for my Futura. I then drop down to a 2011 5.5m Ezzy wave on my 94 litre FSW board. Then down to a 4.7m Ezzy Wave on my 86/94 FSW board. I also have a 6m NP sail in there which rarely gets used but I have only just picked up a 106 litre Freestyle board and will be using the 6m with that.

I will look at getting the Ezzy Freeride sails (7.5 & 6.5) rather than the Infinity. At this stage 2.5 years is all i have been on the water so will look at Infinity sometime in the future.

Hey there. Just tried out my new Ezzy Freeride 7.5 today at Lake Cootharaba. You're right Ploppy (and the others in this post). You can't go wrong, they are excellent sails.
Planing in 11-12 knots. Woohooooooo!!
