Hi, ive got an 8m Cheetah. Just picked up a 2013 460 North gold. When rigged to spec 27cm i cant seem to get high wind setting on leach as pulleys stack solid before it gets there. Do i just go 30cm n downhaul further? Then adjust indicator tab.
Medium setting on leach?


Mark on sail lined up with High mark. Correct? Sail set to medium, ok. Just cant get high setting. Any ideas guys?

have you measured the mast ??

I'd go 34 on the extension and just downhaul till it looks right, take note of how much it took then adjust extension to suit

Yep mast all good. Maybe Sdm is stiffer than Rdm for given length? So id have to go more extension n crank it down? Mostly sail will be used at medium. But id like to know its full tune ability.

only other options are - the sail stretched - not sure Ezzy Cheetah does that or
the only other concern is the marker - believe it can be moved, non ??

how about forget the marker and rig to what you think is light, medium and high wind ??
looks like we are talkin about only one or 2 cm

and so, yes, try 2 more cm downhaul and check it out ...

I understand your sail is a Ezzy Cheetah 2015 model. Go to the Ezzy website and look at the video of calibration of a non-Ezzy Mast on a Cheetah 2015. There are loads of other videos on rigging and tuning the sail.

If your mast is a 2013 North it is similar to an Ezzy but not identical.

If dots it top of sail indicate mid wind setting and the marker at bottom indicates mid wind then mast is good. Just need a little more extension

not all extensions measure the same

from foto it looks more like lightwind up against the first row of dots but it's probably just light and photo angle

eithrr way more extension is where I would go first

Hi guys, so this sail is hard to see the changes in downhaul at leach. Not clearly like the image on sail tag. Lines dont really form as a V. More like parallel lines perpendicular to leach. Mastcap seems ok, top face protruding about 25mm at front edge of luff? Can sail be tuned like others? Eg. Downhaul till upper battens sit behind mast? Or strictly Ezzy leach V rigging technique? Will post more pics asap. Extension used is 30cm chinook. Even at max length extension, sail wont set to high.

Light wind setting. Hard to see.
Medium on downhaul n outhaul. Gives this result.

Was it a new sail? The sail marker is on velcro so i may not be in the exact spot or it was moved by the previous owner. Have you watched the Ezzy rigging videos? Test rig it with tape measure. Fun days

Had top of indicator line high at factory mark on sail.

I didn't read most answers.
I have a thought that the alignment mark is off.

give yourself enough length on the mast extension, with the bottom 2 battens under the mast, downhsul until the rotate up. IMO that's close to medium d/h.

Hey Joe, so the North gold 460 is a little stiffer than Ezzy mast. With correct downhaul the leach doesnt quite sit like it should. Instead of making a V shape to reqd dots, its looseness is more perpendicular to leach. Easy once you know exactly what to look for.

Sail with max downhaul.
Waiting for 20kts+ to test......
