Hi, Does anybody use the exocet x-wave 93. I think this could be a good board for me, but cant find any tests or feedback on the forum.
I need a board for 4.2 to 5.7 sails for bump and jump in choppy conditions. Rarely some smaller waves.
i know the tabou 3s 96 (2015). I hope that the x-wave is a little wavier with thruster setup and maybe better to control with 4.2 as it is 3 cm smaller. If that is the case I wozld sell my old mistral, wave fish 84 becuase it is no fun with my weight of 96 kg when the wind is gusty and not steadily strong. The x-wave then would be my smallest board.

best regards
Alex

In the conditions you describe go the 3s and grab it quick if you know of one available.Probably one of the best bump and jump boards around. A good bump and jump board requires speed and the 3s has plenty. A more wave orientated board with thrusters wont have the same feeling and just seem boring Imo. Ive been looking for a 96 ltd 3s of that year for a while and cant find one. Keep the mistral for the big days as no 95L board is going to be much fun with anything under a 5m sail when fully powered up in chop. Im the same weight as you and have 3 boards to cover a sail range of 4.2 - 5.9 smallest being an 80L single thruster wave board which doesnt get used much but is a must on the right day.

Respectfully, no. At 96 kg, a modern 95 L board is as small as anyone that weight needs for a 4.2.

I don't had have opportunity to try Exocet x wave but I have an Exocet Cross 84 and it's amazing for bump 'n jump in hard choppy conditions. I use this board with plenty of satisfaction form 5.8, when over powered, till 3.6 The board is really fast, handles the chop perfect and is a great jiber. Even in the hardest conditions you feel always in perfect control.

Not the 93l but the German mag Surf did a test including the 85l in their freewave/FSW test of 2015. The board is still the same as the current version. It neither excelled or was bad in any one criteria (jumping/planing/gybing/wave riding etc when compared to the other boards in the test. www.surf-magazin.de/boards/freemove/test-2015-freemoveboards-85-exocet-xwave-85

I have a 115 x wave I have used for small waves and bump and jump. Very middle of the road but solid performer. Enjoyed it, but since getting a Dyno it has gathered dust so is going to a new home, where I'm sure it'll be enjoyed.
