the only info on the tushi website is the PVC crash panel
is the xply in the tushi spectra or is that the ezzy trademark
where is the monofilm on the tushi

Don't stress Greenroom.
I'm sure that whichever sail you buy you'll love, or learn to love.
There's a fair bit of subjectivity involved with sail comparisons.
Both current Tushingham & Ezzy wave sails are tough & both use Spectra(trade name) filament in the x-ply. ( x-ply is in fact, monofilm,sandwiching the threads)
Tushingham uses a minimum amount of vinyl as a shock absorber, in a thick monofilm window, as vinyl is vveerryy stretchy in even window size patches.
The rock's wind range is fantastic & the feel is pure comfort & control.
We are going to be the first in the Universe to get the new '06 models,which should be in towards the later part of September.
All are invited to demo them when they do arrive.

I decided to buy Ezzy's after looking at the construction of them compared to other sails. I just think they are far better made than anything on the market. Thats just my 'engineering' veiwpoint.

I've got an '04 5.2 wave and jsut bought an '05 5.7 infinity and a coupla older ezzy waves (4.0 and 4.5).
All of them seem bullet proof (though the 5.2 wasnt harness hook proof when I fell on it)

I think the bit about them lacking bottom end is to do with how you rig them. They seem very sensitive to downhaul especially. Not enough and they can feel a little sluggish to get going. But I suspect thats the same for any sail. But pulling more downhaul solved it for me.
As regards actual weight of the sails, they are a bit heavier but we are talking grammes. Don't eat that Mars bar and you wont notice the difference.

I looked at the Tushinghams and (now i gonna get it!) I thought the Ezzy was better constructed, and had a better build quality. But we will only find that out after 4 yrs of sailing.

There are some rather nice touches like the built in mastfoot pad which also goes over the base plate on the '06 model, and the batten key that is velcro'd to the sail. (Which ive never had to use on any of the sails).

I find the 5.2m wave handles the gusts nicely and twists off as it should. I had Neil Prydes before and dont notice a huge difference in sailing qualities between the two. I've spoken to a few guys who have them and for those people who need a sail thats going to last (I.e dont trade in every year) its a fairly safe bet.
