Hi,

just wondering if anyone has had trouble with their duotone outhaul line.

I bought a new boom, used it less than 20 times this year and the outhaul line is frayed and almost broken. Is this normal?

Yep, replace the rope on the front end too.
They are not the only boom to be supplied with sub standard rope.

It can be. Although 20 seems a bit low. Do you have it tight or loose?

I have a few Duotone booms. If you are running low or no outhaul tension then the rope can get crossed at the eyelet and wears out on just one day or even session. Replace it with dyneema rope and you will be fine for years. The original rope on the boomhead works fine for me.
Best regards,
