Has anyone tried the latest Chinook booms? I'm currently using Streamlined but I enjoyed trying out a Goya super skinny over winter - cold hands preferred the skinny grip. Are the latest Chinook booms as skinny as the Goya and as well made as the old Streamlined ones?

After trying the goya super skinny I doubt you will go for anything else. Imho the 21 incarnation is even a notch skinnier than previous. d=24 mm ...??

I've had one for a year and I'll never go back. My friend has the Goya and honestly we both agreed it's a tossup. Both skinnies are great booms. Where were they 20 years ago? ??

Plus one for the Goya. I have had the Goya Super Skinny since 2016. It's my daily driver. Added a Chinook Carbon RDG last year and recently put it up for sale. It's just not stiff compared to the Goya.

The Chinook is skinnier than the Goya. Specs say they are both 24.5 but the Chinook is noticeably thinner when using it.

Goya, Gaastra, Aeron, Prolimit, Severne they all pretty much the same and good booms. I think most now have got rid of the shim in the head as well so it's RDM only. Goya was my first skinny, lost it to the ocean. Gaastra and Aeron I have now, and others I have used too, all feel pretty much the same. Differences are mostly in the boom head.

I find all these skinnies bend too much. Who is 100kg, wavesailing, and had one for 5 yrs or so? Legit question

Sorry, I'm only 88 kg. I've had my Goya super skinny for 5 years and have abused it locally in the waves at max extension. Plus multiple trips to Maui, Pistol River and Puerto Rico at normal extension. Still going strong. Goya logo has fallen off grip, but otherwise still good.

AL360 also makes very strong and good booms. They are thin (25 mm)and with oval form of the tubes. I have chinook, aeron (V-grip alu) and AL360 full carbon 150-200 cm They are all fine booms. May be the AL360 Carbon is stronger than the Goya because of oval form.

Talking about wave booms the goya super skinny overall is superb. However I am fond of severne lockjaw head- reliable, strong, appr. 130 g lighter than most boom heads, no adapters (who needs them anyway), no point loading on the mast. Most important that it is so easy to adjust boom height in the water if needed. So I combined a severne lockjaw on a goya super skinny. Not that the original goya boom head is bad but the lockjaw is the way to go imho.

Haven't had one for that long but few years at least and going strong with my 100kg. Mostly 3.0 to 4.2 conditions, so proper abuse. And still feels fine on 5.5 too. Sure bends a tiny bit more than my old, thicker Aeron but still prefer the skinny one any time.

And there's skinny v-grip that Aeron has, a little bit more rigid but personally like the feeling of the round one more.

Just FYI... the boom head & collars are close to the same but the Chinook boom & tail tubes are made in the US & have a totally different outline shape.

I've had the Chinook Carbon RDG 135-185 for roughly 2.5 years and I love it. The thin grip is awesome, it's nice and light and I've found it to be rock solid. I had an Enigma before it, but found the head wore the carbon and became quite loose in the end (maybe this has been fixed in newer models) but overall I prefer the Chinook.
