Any recommendations and costs for a wheeled board bag (double) or quiver bag that can take a board ?
I have a Neil Pryde all in one which is great except it's weight (approx 7 kgs)

Got a trip coming up with Crap Star so am limited to 20kgs
Am taking 1 board, 2 sails, 2 masts and a boom. (Boom, sails! Hanes fins all go in a boom bag)
1 board, 2 masts and the cover itself is around 19kgs

Suggestions/recommendations

Flying Objects do a triple without wheels and a single + sails with wheels. Weight of each is about 5.8.

I looked at those to replace the double NP I got but figured the savings in weight wasn't worth replacing it. My NP double weights 6.9kg.

The RRP for the triple cover is $325 from memory. You can email them at info@flyingobjects.com.au and they can let you know who has stock.

Or just ditch the bag. When I recently flew from Perth to Singapore someone checked in a surf board without cover. He had duck taped two thin strips of cardboard to the rails. The checkin chick at the counter just said: "You must be an optimist."

I went to WA with the same gear as you.

I rolled two sails, mast base, tools in the one sail bag(12kg ish).

I put everything else in my board bag 20kg ish(90l board, 400, 370, 140 boom). Towel, harness etc were extra padding. I just used a standard dakine single board bag.

Clothes were carryon in my backpack. It cost me $30 for two items.

Don't mean to hi-jack thread - curious of any good stories of boards arriving in one piece?

I have heard so many stories of smash boards - you guys had any issues? Strategies for packing? Padding?
