I am considering to buy a longboard and I’d like to have a few suggestions about the best sails for a longboard in production today. From reviews, it seems that sails like the Aerotech Zenith, the Maui MS2 and Maui TR-5 were excellent for longboarding , but they are no longer in production today and not easy to find on the 2nd hand market. Kona and Bic do make sails specifically for their longboards and they may be an option, but I’d like to know if there are other reliable brands or models recommended for LB. Does Aerotech manufacture longboarding sails replacing (or having similar characteristics to) the Zenith? Also the MS Blaze ,the Ezzy Lion, along with the Severne Turbo ( not easy to find in Quebec, Canada) seem interesting. From what I see, the key for good longboarding performance is a relatively small DH and a tight leech, possibly a less pronounced luff curve. Any sails with these features today? Any comments or suggestions about the best LB sails?

Neither planing nor speed are my priority, only light winds subplaning, given the prevailing wind conditions here. My problem is that an 8.5 and 9.5 are way too big for comfort, especially when flipping around or uphauling, but at the same time too small for my Bic Core 293 which is not quite a longboard yet. Eventually I'll buy a longboard, but for the moment I am looking for as small as possible a sail which would still get me going in light winds on my Bic 293 better than my current Severne Focus 8.5 and Ezzy 7.5, designed for shortboards.
Sails designed for longboarding or any sail designed for a small DH and a tight leech) should do the trick and allow me to step down on the size. I wonder if anybody can comment on this from my perespective

NP Helium. Has a tight leech and designed to get you going in light winds.

You could use a techno 293 od 7.8 they can be rigged with a tight leech and deep draft.

8.5 is hardly to big to uphaul or handle particularly in light wind. I know plenty of female youth sailors who would be lucky to weigh much over 50kgs and they dont seem to stuggle or complain.

What about Mistral one design sails?

The Demons Rule on a longboard. Not cheap but the quality and durability is better as from most wavesails while being superligt.
