The 1975 Bedford CF 250........., is it totally the best windsurfing van available in the world ever in the history of vans and windsurfing?

Here's your answer....

This is how the June 1975 issue of "Van Enthusiast" Magazine describes the Bedford 250:

'...an absolutely fantastic new concept in van design, this year's Bedford offers unrivalled comfort with adjustable driver's seat and fan assisted warm and cool air ventilation.

Ample power comes from the GM 6 cylinder motor which delivers smooth and cat-like performance through the 3 speed manual gearbox.

Top speed is around 105Kmh, but this year's Bedford is not all about performance. Driver comfort and safety are equally important. Drum brakes all around have the CF stopping on a dime and new for this year driver and passenger seatbelts assure complete safety if the worst should happen.'

"...other features include high and low beam driving lights (with floor mounted dip switch), automatic indicator off switch and extra large ashtray..."

I rest my case....!

Sinker,
Is your CF 250 a bronzy/goldy type of colour, last seen in my mirror as I ripped past it on the way back from Gnarloo

How many days did it take you to get home?

seriously though, my brother had one years ago, replaced the standard low ratio diff and rear axle assembly, with one from a ford (they where the same width) and it increased its speed by about 30kms. Made for much better driving experience.
Great old units tho.

Yes that was my superb vehicle you were lucky enough to set eyes on...

Took us 2 days to get home because we stopped in at Corros.

don't laugh, it might be a pile of crap, but it was cheap and it looks quite cool..

not laughing, I'm with you all the way.
Great ol van, the extra width just gives you that extra bit of room.

just a pity about the standard diff ratio.

as they said in the seventies, "keep on truckin"
