Looking for input on Patrick Boards.
What did you have before etc etc

well Patrick was the F2 shaper for a few years, all the reports I read mention top speed and incredible control.
seems like the cutouts can be filled with "pieces" for strong wind sailing

Trailer wave 83. 2013 sailed in 4spots of wa really loose flys upwind plains super early good on all size waves. Turns really well easy to sail weight transfer not a issue a great board to sail for all conditions highly recommendable trailer wave 92 light winder plains really early turns well good on waves bottom turns well for a high volume board fast down wind Fin adjustment makes board a bit looser highly recommendable

Have been using the 110 litre last two weeks in 10-20 knots.

Great board,feels a bit smaller to sail than my 2007 Fanatic 111 litre possibly due to quite narrow tail.

Tried the 107 sonic,the 112 f2 and the Mistral 113,i like this Patrik best,again feels smaller than the other three.

Really enjoyable to sail,the relatively narrow tail,wider nose helps in the big gusts.

I have a F2 from a few years ago shaped by patrick. It is very good.
In fact I swapped all my boards over to F2 based on that 1 board.

Now he is shaping for himself heh! Will have to check out these Patrick baords then

I've got a 135 patrik slalom and rate it very highly.

I typically use it in 15-22K with either a 9.6 code red (15-18K) or 8.4 TR8 (17-22K).

Great board, feels fast for such a large board (I've cracked a few +30K peaks on it) and very controllable in the chop.

I prefer it over the 135 XFire (V2) I owned previously (more top end).

Steve Stratfold (Sails & Windsurfing in O'Connor) is the WA distributor and has demo boards available to try.

Haven't owned one but had a look at the 80L speed board the other day and it looked a good size for WA conditions. Steve was motoring on it last week.
Rowen Law has used them and would probably have the best insight.

Col, like Mark said, Stevio has been fanging around on the 80L speed board (though it looks less than 80 L to me)...he also has some other new ones in his van...I'm sure if you ask nicely...

I've borrowed the 99l freestyle board this week.
Tail is hugely fat which seems to help it slide, yet it still holds a rail in a tight carving 360 or laydown gybe...
Defiantly rate it as a really fun, forgiving board to sail and the graphics are pretty sweet too!

I confirm Patriks superb quality and on-the-water performance. I was searching for suitable board for myself (90-100kg advanced sailor) for quite a while now. i tried Starboard Isonics 101L , F2 Sx 105L both 2010 models and now the current model Patrkis. For me as an advance level windsurfer this board feels as step up than the other two brands, it allowed me to step up my (slalom) game significantly to the point i believe that soon i will be able to race with the the pro's – beware Jesper Orth :-)! I will be able to chase you soon :-)

I've tested the slalom 135 and 115, courtesy of Steve's Surf Shed@Sails&Windsurfing Centre in O'Connor, who sells Patrik boards here in WA.

Patrik Diethelm Slalom 135L with 8.4 sail and 42 cm fin - in gusty swan river conditions Melville spot ( wind range 12 knts -22 gust avg 18knts) and it handled great, very early plane and also went through the wind holes really nice, great on a jibe, very good end speed. Overall score 9/10 (and only not 10 because of my mistake of using too short fin, which created a bit of spin out on a jibe once or twice – next time I will use 48cm for this size sail)

Patrik Diethelm 115 Slalom + 42 cm Vector + 7,0 - solid WA seabreeze conditions 20-25 knts, Peli Point, 100kg sailor – the wind was quite strong, but this set up was just spot on, the board feels small, yet still has decent volume for when wind drops slightly, jibing was superb, like doing it in a slo-mo, very controlled thru the turn and I managed to get a ratio of 9/10 PERFECT speed jibes without even trying too hard, and on isonics that ratio was maybe 5/10 , F2 7/10 and more effort to nail the perfect jibe required. I was stoked with that board and I hope I can use it a lot this summer. Overall Board score 10/10 best I ever ridden so far.

I would recommend Patriks to anyone who needs a little extra push to get themselves to that next level, master the speed jibes without going out of plane for a split second and achieve a great controlled speed while sailing. If you are at least intermediate level (confident jibing) you should seriously consider getting a fantastic board that will push you to the next level.

I haven't tried the Trailer Wave one, but its next on my plate – Patrik 93 Trailer Wave. I had the privilege of getting the wave trailer fin concept explain to me by Karin Jaggi and now I just can't wait to get it out on the water and checking out for myself. I write here how it went :-) conditions look just right to some testing this weekend!

demo'ed the 115 slalom for a week. First outing was on 7.8 and 40 fin. Gybe as the poster above said were so smooth. The board holds its speed thru the gybe so well it was like it was in slow motion. comeing out of the first gybe i remember thinking "holy crap that was nice"

Second session i had a 6,2 up and a 31 peak w 30 10 sec avg and i wasnt even pushing it hard. the 6.2 was a underpowered off the wind. Did not drop a single gybe that day.

Previously i tried a isonic and a falcon and neither felt as comfortable for me as a 100 kg sailer.

Picked up a new 115 this morning from Justin. will have to wait till Sunday Ne'r tho to get it wet. Will let you know how it goes.

Can anyone comment on the FreeRide 125? I'm 75kgs & main criteria is
- uphaul the sail
- plane early
- good gybe

Hi Long Time Ago; I have a125 Patrik Freeride. Never been a short board man and managed to plane, in harnes and footstraps, after 4 half hour sessions. Wind between 15 and 20knt. Sail 7m no cam ,fin MB 40. Board is easy to control at speed. Uphaul no problem and I am heavier than you (88 kg) and older!
Board is highly recommended and you will have no problems whatsoever.
Can't gybe as jet but managed to tack and gybe in non planing conditions.

I took the 92 Trailer Wave out with a 5,3 KA Killer in a 18-23 knots seabreeze, tough scarboro conditions with quick waves, strong current and wind shadow.
The board is very turny and feels loose on the wave, can throw a nice splash on top turn, there are variety of the fins set up but i didn't have a chance to test all.
feels like a twinzer with that extra pivot power on the turn, thanks to the mini centre fin, early plane, handles well on the plane and in the air, sweet board.

were you out on the Patrick board yesterday? If so we took a bit of video of you going flat out on it.

yep altho with the patchy wind on wed arvo the 6.2 i had really suffered thru the holse - should have rigged bigger :) wont make that mistake on sat!

I had the patrik 115 out yesterday with a 7.8 slalom. pulled a 32.5 peak and a 30 5x10 avg with a 22 alpha. I think i will sea bit more improvement as i get more confident off the wind.
Pretty happy witht he performance of the board and how stable it felt going over the back of the small chop - never once did it nose dive or ever feel like sliding out.
The board Gybes like a dream - stays on the plane the whole way round and is super stable making the sail transitiona breeze.

Best description i can give is its like riding my 90 ltJP slalom IV but with more volume and a lot easier to gybe.
