I believe these are hard to get in Australia, which is a pitty cause I think they are truely awesome.

After now using my new one a bit I have a pretty good feel for it...of course 'time will tell' on how long it will last for, but feels bomb proof.

Firstly, amazing looking , quality of head looks great, very very easy to operate head mast system, made for RDM, locks in real tight, no bend levers etc great.

Weight is heavy, bugger...

Stiff...sooo stiff, Ive never had to complain about my stiffness! but up until now I think I have always been having soft ones! (booms!)Now I know what Carbon boom guys go on about, but this is a heaps cheaper option!

Clew adjust,,double pin a little harder to snap on/off but easy to adjust with the reduced diameter tail section, nice simple end section for clew rope.

The 'V', I was worried about this, especially as I dont really have big hands, its awesome! feels great less hand fatigue, all booms should be V shaped IMO! only down side is moving harness lines around means you really have to open them up to move them, no 'sliding'

I dont often rave a bout new bits of gear, they either work or they don't to me, rarely does anything stand out as being superior...but this does for sure.

If you need a boom, try and find one of these..bloody great!

Could easily say it was twice as stiff as my previous loft boom, looked at some sunshine booms and NP and would say the same against those also. Haven't measured it on its own just compared it to a) what I had b)what else was in local store at the time so against those it's miles in front in front on all aspects not just stiffness.
Was more pointing out also that the 'v' grip I have found to be super comfy, but it is pretty heavy.
It seems to be another magic V!

The New Pro limit booms are V grip as well

I've been using a V Grip 200-250 for about 18 months now, gotta agree with everything you have said Jonesy, the head is great quality and the RDM insert is ace. I use it on around 215 setting and it is very stiff. The only thing I found recently is that after sailing for more then several hours my hands did get a little sore from the shape I think, offcourse it may be that I was just a soft b*stard after winter

I don't know how stiff they are but they feel really nice to hold onto.

This boom is an interesting concept, but no good for me. It isn't wide enough for the lake, and too heavy (approx 1.7kg) for the ocean. It's really a pity that the boom isn't slalom shaped, because it would be an excellent slalom boom due to it's weight. It's the strongest boom I have used to date, and it's heavy, so more force I can hold down on the lake, but as a wave boom on the ocean for a light guy like me, the weight makes the sail feel numb and it takes a bit more effort to do manoeuvres and wears me out quicker. I agree with Jonesy. It's very well made. The clamp has this really nice 'snap' feeling when you lock the mast, and the Vgrip shape feels really nice. I've owned a Aeron 140-160 MCT boom for 2 years now, and it's been excellent. In summary: For small guys, I don't recommend it. For big guys who want to try a cheap alternative to carbon wave booms, then give it a go.
