Looking for a 80L board that will do the trick in cross-on, cross-off mostly head to logo, rarely have bigger unless I travel but this is not what the board will ride 95% of the time.

My shop got Severn, Starboard and JP.

Any advice between the
Severn Nano 83
Starboard UltraKode 80
JP Ultimate Wave 83.

I had the JP Thuster Quad 76 and the Kode Wave 87, will replace one board for both and will bring a freestyle 92L for the flat or very small wave days.
Any chance you tested those board lately?
I think the JP is not as all around as the other 2, the tail is quite narrow, needs wave or wind to shine!

I hada Nano ( albeit 78 ) great board for conditions you describe.
Sold it and purchased the new Starboard air Jaeger 79 . It is a lot faster to get up and go and turns on a dime. quad or tri option too.
Its stated 79 litres feels more like a 80's.

A board size up, but have you read this? Usually there is consistency between sizes ... Or buy the relevant issues of Surf magazine and translate to English.

I've the Ultrakode 80 reflex carbon 2017, amazing board for all conditions, best suited in side/side on conditions, still at the top also in onshore.
I love this board, easy and radical at the same time, I use it from Europe to Mauritius Island.

Thanks Guys. The uk magazine is refering to the 86/93 and the 80 is a different shape at SB. Would you say the Nano is riding small for his size or big, I'm torn between the 78 and the 83.

same thing for the UltraKode Manawa? Usually starboard rides big for his size, how's that ultrakode?

I'm 70Kg.

The most used sail would be 4.1 for that board would be side, side-off wind.

78 side side off, generally if you sail on shore you need more power but if you go side +4.1... I've a friend that use Nano 83 at 72kg and he is very very happy, but he said me that in very strong wind 3.7-4.2 he would like to have 78. That said you can also consider how works your preferred spot, in side off conditions sometime to cross the wave you need power and float, if you don't find wind....and waves are coming... personally I prefer escape from pressure as soon as possible

An 83 nano would be a float and ride board for me at 70kg ,go the smaller one.

Just got the 78l nano, plenty of float in lighter wind, and also great with 4.2, only a few times on it so far but very happy with it.
