thinkin of switching from 4 yr old simmer missions to ezzy..

i sail mostly central california west coast waves--no bay sailing.
as u guys usually get new gear before we do in the states- was wondering if anyone had experiences w/ both the taka and the new ezzy elite 3's in waves chest--> mast high , i weigh 190-195#... i hope to run just a 2- 3 sail quiver 5.3ish and down.. just wondering if a big 3 batton taka 5.4 really works well w/o feeling to squirrely. Want the sails to rig and tune easily and hassle free w/o being too finiky....

I spoke to one of the solo sports guys after he used the Taka for the first time - he said it was amazingly stable. His new quiver was two sails 4.5 and 5.2 (I think). He was really impressed and being one of the locals he sailed the Ezzy elites regularly

I've been using the 4.9 and 5.4 takas for three months know in winter sailing conditions in south western Australia and some summer sea breezes ,mostly crosson to sideshore and the takas are great ,very light in the hands and go neutral on the wave when you need but have heaps of grunt when sailing around , the power delivery is better than the elite I had but not as aggressive as a tiger and more fun on the wave than both .
The takas have a huge setting range and can be set really full (watch ezzy taka rigging video) when set like this I can plane in 12 -14 knts with tne 5.4 on a goya 94 quad , I weigh 74 kg.
I have a ezzy 5.8 tiger witch I have not used since getting the 5.4 taka , its just so nice to use , and the 4.9 is even better , plenty of power and more compact on the wave .
I find the sweet spot setting for me is half way between minimum and medium on the calibrated downhall guide .
Im planning to add a 4.5 to my set soon .

I spent a bit more than three weeks with the Elite on Maui this winter and used them for 8-10 sessions (5.3, 5.0 and 4.7). I am normally a Simmer sailor and have used most of their sails over the years.

The one thing that I would perhaps like to add is that if you like the feeling of you Simmer Missions, you will get something quite different with the Elite (or, I assume, the Taka as well).

I did enjoy the drive and excellent build quality of the Ezzy Elite, but it was not a sail for me since I prefer a foil that simply is lighter in the hands and easier to throw around.

Oh, and Ezzy rdm masts seem very strong, perhaps the best you can get for durability at the moment?

I have had elite 1 and 2, sail sizes 4.5, 4.7, 5.0, 5.3 haven't sailed the E3, but now sail the Taka, 4.1, 4.5, 4.9, 5.4. I'm 84kg, I would go the Taka over the Elite, The sails feel the same when flogging around, other than a bit of flapping when over powered on the Taka, but on the wave the Taka feels so much lighter when you correctly rig it for the wind speed, add .3 of a meter to each of the Taka sizes and that's the size it has the power for so 4.1 = 4.4, 4.5 = 4.8, if there was such sizes, you do need to rig them thou on ezzy masts, I had some of the best sails in a long time due to the Taka sails, me want more please. the only bad bit, is like they are missing a battern or something when you roll them up.
