I just received my new 2015 gun sail GSR 5m from Strath windsurfing shop.

Looks very nice and very keen to get it on the water ....

1st thing i noticed is the bag is well made with enough room to fit the sail.

It rigs well and the cams fit nicely on the rdm mast - not enough wind in my backyard to try the rotation, but will hopefully get the sail on the water soon and will keep you posted....

Dissapointing effort on the lawn. I'm thinking half marks - five out of ten.

I think everybody needs to be vary of their lawn / life balance.
There are some people who are so devoted to their lawn that they are missing out on life. Carls lawn is perfect. Its a good lawn without being neurotically perfect!

Love the sail too.

My 5.5 Maui TR9 with 408cm luff has 9 battens.

Now when I look at a 7 batten sail, even in the 5m size the gap between the battens looks too big!

Bigger gap likely leads to more power though as well as feeling softer and lighter.

I wonder if we will ever see a 10 batten sail.

I am sure someone will dig up a picture of a 10 batten sail from the past.

I think the Gun Sails GS-r 3m looks good with 7 battens just have to wait until it gets a run on Lake George to see how fast it can go.
