Just got my new boards and in the quiver are 3 2015 Freewave TE's I will for the bump and jump on-shore locally (I have quads for the offshore / waveriding). So they have 3 fins, but given my intended use I was speed so I think it may perform a bit better for the on-shore bump and jump stuff with a larger single fin like the old newwaves I had.

Keen on advice from this community of experts! I could:
- stick with the tri fin setup;
- just use the single that came with it, but it seems a little small;
- get a larger single for each, but what brand? I have a recommendation for Black project fins.

If one and bigger, would maybe go 4cm bigger on the 96 litre, 3cm bigger on the 86 and 2cm bigger on the 76 to add some additional wind performance separation, although open to suggestions on this as well.

Your proposal for single fins ....

FW TE 96 = 19cm stock + 4cm = 23cm
FW TE 86 = 19cm stock + 3cm = 22cm
FW TE 76 = 18cm stock + 2cm = 20cm

The 2015 Freewave CWS are only supplied with singles which would be a good guide from the Fanatic recommendations ....

FW CWS 96 = 27cm
FW CWS 86 = 25cm
FW CWS 76 = 23cm

In summary:

The stock singles look too small to run as a single.

Your proposals are still quite a bit smaller than the Fanatic recommendations.

I've been using a 28cm with our demo Patrik FSW 93 and 6.2m that doesn't feel too large (not too far off the Fanatic recommendation for the 96).

You can buy the individual fins direct from Fanatic:

Freewave G10 US in 23cm for RRP$189 (US for the FW TE 76)

Freewave G10 PB in 25cm, 27cm or 29cm for RRP$189 (PB for the FW TE 86 and 96)

Check out Maui ultra fins as well - 96 = 26cm or 28cm, 86 - 23/24cm,and 78= 22cm in the x-wave or wave
They work well and not too hard to get hold of.

I had a BP 28 freewave and a simmer 28 cm but prefer the x-waves - they work well as a thruster set up as well (you can use the 22/23 with the 96 thruster for float and ride at middleton)

MFC freewave by far I reckon. Most are too slalomy but the MFC one still allows a bit of looseness IMO
