Is that Kai Hopf in one of the Photos?
Any idea where these were taken?
Any news on how they sail?
Is the draft indeed deeper than the previous generations?
Softness, twist and looseness of leach were improved for 09.
But still they all lack low end power.
Particularly annoying in Formula when looking for deeper angles down wind, and when looking for fin pressure in light wind.
All my 07, 08, and 09 slalom sails are very fast. But only when FULLY powered!!!!!!
Anyone got any extra info?

Am jumping ship for Formula. But will keep my Slalom sails for now.

cant wait to try my dads new 6.3 when it gets here.....the 09 ones feel sic, so i hope there better again in the speed/slalom

Yes, Kai Hopf with the green shirt. It was in Maui.

THE DESIGN OBJECTIVES WARP F2010

Improved acceleration after start and jibing without sacrificing stability or speed. This is essential when you are coming jibe or drag racing to the next mark where you want to make use of the smallest gust to move past your opponent.
Try to further reduce the weight especially of the bigger sizes. This is essential to make the sail less physical to sail and easier to pump.

THE DESIGN REALIZATION WARP F2010

Improved acceleration after start and jibing without sacrificing stability or speed.
Kai Hopf, the saildesigner, has achieved that by adding more depth to the sail most noticeable in the boom area. In the upper part of the sail (batten 1 to batten 4) Kai has replaced the cross seams with a full luff panel, which enables him to control the added profile.
The result of these modifications is an extra dragster like acceleration. Kai also reduced the aspect ratio - especially on the larger sizes - which results in a slightly wider and shorter sail. This longer chord also has a very positive effect on the acceleration.

Try to further reduce the weight, especially the weight of the bigger sizes
After the success from last year, when Kai had reduced the number of battens from 8 to 7 on all sizes up to 8.0, he now went one step further. Now even the big sizes have 7 battens only. This makes the sail more dynamic and noticeable lighter in the hands. Kai was able to maintain the stability through stiffer battens and improvements in shaping. In addition Kai has replaced the top 3 batten tensioners with our superlight Mini Rocket tensioner, one of the lightest tensioners on the market.

All these weight reductions in the top of the sail have a very large impact as it effects the swing weight of the sail. As a result especially the bigger sizes got remarkably lighter making them less physical to sail plus they are easier to pump.

The Pics from Vietnam contest (earlier post).look as if CM is running the sails on a RDM?
My set arrive next week so will try out the 5.7m and 6.3m on both SDM, and RDM and post some feedback.
I think the larger sizes will be best run on SDM.
By the sounds of things this years sails have moved up a notch again.
Look at the Formula results from South America, and the Calema Midwinters, along with the AWT and other events to date.

I rig my 5.8m F8 Ram on a Gulftech 100% RDM mast.

Now that I've tensioned the battens properly and made spacers for the 2 middle cams it rigs really well.

I have have 2 sessions on my 7.0m rigging on SDM 460 mast.
Early impressions are more loosness in the head, lighter in the hands, a
smooth feeling through lulls, and a "glide" feel. Top end is yet to be put to the test but overall a step up again from last year.
I like the rotation and power coming on out of the gybes.
They not only look nice but handle nice as well.
I will post some photos and another comment when I push the 7.0m to the max next windy day.

I have a friend who uses Warps exclusively and talks to some pro people who test them. He mentioned that according to pros 2008/2009 model was better than 2010.

Hi,
Just had a three hour mid week session on the new Warp 2010 7.0m.
Wind was 20-25knts and I was on a Carbon Art 62cm and C-3 38cm Sting fin.
This was the first real outing in some real wind. First impressions, again plenty of downhaul required, running an ajustable outhaul which helps with trimming.
The leach is a lot looser than last years,(or I may just run more downhaul).A deep but even draft below the boom leading to a progressive flattening to the head. The design of the top section has changed from last year with vertical seaming panel in from the luff. Skin tension along the luff panel and the vertical panel seems tighter, also the material in the head a lot lighter overall.
On the water the feel is lighter, quick to plane, and when going nice and ballanced.
Powered up the sail just kept on going, no loading up or breaking up in shape.
I have kept last years 7.0m for the moment, and plan to do some testing against this years model.
First impressions:
A wider wind range, lighter feel, nice rotation, and plenty of speed.
Time will tell.
Also, it is a nice looking sail.

Seems as if North Sails are making a presence on the result sheets this year.
Also good to see Carbon Art boards are top Ladies, Top 40+,50+, divisions.
