Just recieved my new 09 Loft Blades and would like to point out the new upgrades and features.

The sails set with a slightly deeper draught and the leach twists off alot more compared to the 08 model.
As like previous years the Blades come equipped with 4 roller cams and rig on RDM masts, two new sizes have been included this year an 8.3 and 9.0m.

For 2009 The Loft introduces Duraluff mast pocket material.

The sails feature two outhaul eyelets and also incorporate zippers for easier cam access as well as new batten tensioners.

The quality of the sail construction (78% Xply) is excellent and would have to be the best value high performance sails avaliable in the market today.
Can't wait to get out on the water

There's a guy over in ireland you made himself something around a 2.5m last year for the storms. Seemed to reckon it was ok with gusts up to 100kt. Finding a small enough board was the biggest problem - i think he ending up borrowing a kids board which was around 45l.

Do you think there is a limit when you simply don't go out eg. 5 knots or 100knots?

Moderate to fresh winds here(Barmera) tomorrow so i'll definetly get out on the water.
I can remember buying new gear in the past and it was like a jinx no wind for 3-4 weeks

it is only a jinx as far as the opposites go.

for eg.

i recently picked up a 125lt wave board.

it's been blowing 20-30 with days of 40 ever since.

it's like.

02 freeride has gone up approx $200 from 2008 stock, guessing from the FX rate. Damn greedy yank bankers.

Had a chance to get out today kit used Fanatic 131-48cm 09 Blade 7.5 wind 8-15 knots.
The 7.5 felt very sweet, downhaul set 5cm off max for the lighter conditions and the sail powered the board up onto the plane with ease.It has a very locked ultra stable feeling and heaps of drive but still retains the Blade's easy breathing capacity.

2sec- 31.45
alpha 500- 23.19

Choco, those Lips and 360's look the bomb! Which is lucky as I have three 2009 Lips in the boot of my car! Also caught up with Bud yesterday who was sailing with a 2009 Switch Blade - looked awesome.

By the way, I am selling my brand new 2008 Loft 360 6.5m and brand new 2008 Loft Lip 4.7 if anyone's interested. PM me and I'll let you know the very good price

Cheers

He was sailing until the 30 knot wind hit!!! Then it was pure carnage.

I was going to go for the Black/White but they didn't have 3 of them.

Had a chance now to use the Blade 7.5m and 6.2m(rigged on 100% Loft RDM masts) a few times ,the new sails are a significant step forward.
I cannot believe how much power+drive that they produce, using the 7.5 and Manta 67 i was running rings around the other sailors on the water, some of the gusts were hitting 28 knots and the sail felt completely locked in /ultra stable and still retained it's great breathing capacity, downhaul was 5cm off max!
With the 08 Blades i have always been pretty even in terms of speed with a mate that i sail with regularly, the 09 blades no contest i've picked up a few knots in speed and simply leave him in my tracks.
The 6.2m exhibits the same performance gains as the 7.5 the power and drive it produces is outstanding and is ultra stable the sails are real chameleons, by adjusting the downhaul/outhaul you can tailor the feel of the sail to your liking eg; more backhand pressure or light overall feel and minmimal back hand pressure.
All sails are supplied with a simple adjustable outhaul kit don't leave it in the bag use it and get the most out of your Blades.
